Dr. Sushila Rao is Co-Founder and Director of Soft Skills India Pvt. Ltd.
Dr. Rao has over thirty years of work experience in management consulting, management education, and business both in India and the United States. She has extensive experience in executive education and has designed and taught management training programs for executives at junior, middle, senior and top management levels in India. These include seminars and workshops on Communication Skills, Corporate Culture, Leadership, Team Building, Managerial Effectiveness, Presentation Skills, Customer Service, Professional Selling, Sales Management, Marketing Strategy, Product Management, Marketing Research, Business to Business Marketing, Marketing of High-Tech Products, and Marketing of Services.
Dr. Rao co-founded a management consulting company in Hyderabad in 1983. She has consulted for companies in a variety of industries in India and the U.S. in the areas of marketing strategy, new product introductions, marketing research, customer satisfaction and customer service, organization design, and executive training. Clients include organizations in the food, entertainment, transportation, pharmaceutical, consumer electronics, consumer durables, information technology, and building products industries. Clients include organizations such as Asian Paints, BPL, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Philips India, Titan Industries, Sony Television, VH Group, SAIL, Indian Railways, UNDP, and the World Bank.
Dr. Rao holds a PhD in Marketing from Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, USA, and an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.
Dr. Rao has taught at various management schools in India and the U.S. She was Associate Professor at Boston University and a Faculty Member at Administrative Staff College of India. She was Visiting Professor at the Sloan School of Management at MIT, Northeastern University, and IIM, Bangalore. She has been a guest faculty member at several management institutions such as the IIM, Ahmedabad, SBI Staff Training College, and ICICI Training Institute.
Dr. Rao served on the Board of Directors of several companies including the State Bank of Hyderabad. Dr. Rao is actively involved in management associations and has served as President, HMA (Hyderabad Management Association) and as Chairperson, Southern Regional Council, AIMA (All India Management Association).
